WESTWIND ENLIGHTEN BEAM
b. G, MORGAN, 2001

Beamer is an OG. He’s been around and in our family since the early 2000s. He is the definition of a Morgan. He has no bottom, bold as brass and if you ask, you better hold because he’s gonna do it. He’s seen thousands of trails on so many different terrains. Sure-footed is in his nature but he’s always been on a race to nowhere. There are few horses I would trust as much as him to go bushwacking. Originally, he was never supposed to be mine but he held true to the Morgan statement of “The Horse that Chooses You”. He didn’t freely give that love and I had to earn it. We had our disagreements but he is my forever horse. Beamer has followed me down every rabbit hole of education and has really enjoyed Dressage as he’s aged. He had never shown up until he was in his 20s and he did pretty good for an “old guy”. He’s never been to any rated shows, but they’ve been local events with a good turnout. He’s truly been one of those if you need him, he’s there. He’s a power pack of 14.1hh but don’t let that small size fool you. He’s gritty and tough. Still sound as a bell coming into his 22nd year.

Beamer was the original “source material” for what our herd would build to be. He’s a Black River Trojan son out of JMF Dream Beam. The Black River horses are the cornerstone of what we are putting together. We are lucky enough to have Leo, Trojan, Circe, Major and Dandy in our bloodlines with hopes to add more if ever possible!

Troubador

Westwind Troubador

Troubadour is another of the original 3 Morgans that came into our lives in the early 2000s. He’s an absolutely stunning horse with the most steadfast personality one could ever hope for. He’s endlessly patient and truly enjoys being doted on. He has always been the horse that we’ve had beginners on and he’s never failed to take care of his riders. He isn’t the fastest ride around but he will get you there safely! Troubadour is one our most heavily traveled horses. He’s gone to clinics, local 4H camps, local Dressage shows and local horse shows as well as being a lesson horse for several years. The icing on the cake is the thousands of trail miles this gelding has had. Like the rest of the original 3, he’s been all over the countryside in North Dakota and Montana. Lives up to his name a bit! He’s really a jack of all trades and a true joy to have around.

Troubadour is by JMF Caballero out of Westwind Pipers Mystery. He’s a solid 15hh and there is no question this beautiful boy is a Morgan. He has the classic JMF ears I’d expect and a beautiful head. He’s the horse everyone gravitates to due to his beauty and kind nature.

Sisco

Westwind Francisco

Sisco is the last of the original three! He had a very late start in life at 9 years old but he’s made up for that ten fold. He’s been with us since he was a coming 3 year old. He’s always been a bit of a card though. Truly the safest horse you could possibly want on the trail but out in the pasture he’s liable to spook at the water moving just right in the trough!

But in all seriousness, he’s truly a staple in the family just like his brothers. Sisco has been my sister, Katelyn’s, riding horse after he was started. He’s done anything and everything you could imagine on the trail. Just like Troubadour and Beamer, he was at the whim of his young, fearless riders. He has seen the most beautiful of mountains, lakes and prairies Montana has to offer. He’s been all over the Montana countryside to enjoy trail rides with friends while Katelyn was in college. He will go up, down or through anything but isn’t afraid to let his rider know the safest options.

Along with the countless miles under saddle, he’s been used as a lesson horse in the past for new kiddos or adults wanting to get back into horses or foster that little kid that never got the chance! He’s been used in 4H camps and enjoys being doted on. As he’s aged, he’s truly become one of the most steadfast of horses. Sisco even has the cool trick of ground tying that none of us ever taught him!
