Childs Mission Impossible “Missy” hails from California. Southern Cali to be more specific. So Montana is QUITE the change for her. She was bred by Monique Childs and was loved by Sara Hunt since 2018.
Missy is what anyone would expect from a chestnut mare. She’s full of life and fire. Unfortunately, an injury in 2019 caused permanent soundness issues that her previous owner had worked tirelessly to fix. Prior to her injury, she was a steady trail partner for Sara. Riding all over the deserts of California.
There is no question about why this mare was “retired” to become a broodmare. Her pedigree is impressive and she’s truly a sports car of a Morgan. She’s got excellent lift and drive from behind. A clear walk and canter with an active hind leg. Now time will tell what she graces her foals with in the years to come. Missy is truly a pleasure and an easy gal to have around. She’s wonderful with the young horses, living with mostly weanlings and a long yearling. But is also clear in teaching them manners and how to BE horses in a herd dynamic.
Missy is by Drakes High Command and, as far as we are aware, the only foal by this stallion. While her sire only showed very briefly, Drakes High Command was by the truly exceptional O-L Showstopper. Showstopper accumulated over 50 in-hand Grand and Reserve Championships. He was shown under saddle but unfortunately there are no records in the AMHA database with his accolades, which is quite common going that far back in time!
Her dam, Code Red, was a hot little firecracker just like Missy. She was shown sporadically in hand, in harness and under saddle for the 2003 show season but was not a mare that enjoyed being in the show ring. From there, she became a trail connoisseur and treasured broodmare. Her list of progeny includs Akira Conspiracy Theory, Childs Diana, Winden Kai and Ensbrook Irish Rose.
Missy’s PSSM1 test and color panel are currently pending.
